Scholarship Procedures

All scholarships for high school seniors begin with a single online application, available at www.tinyurl.com/tcfapp, and the only way to ensure you will not receive a scholarship is if you don’t apply!

The selection process is objective and nondiscriminatory. By completing a single online application, students become eligible for numerous local awards, typically totaling over $150,000 per year. Applications are scored anonymously by trained volunteers serving on selection committees. Evaluation includes a variety of qualities, including work experience, school and community service activities, and academic record. In this way, scholarships are made available to a wide range of deserving students planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution.

After applications are reviewed, committee decisions are approved by the Tipton County Foundation Board, and awards are presented at the High Schools’ designated ceremonies. Anyone who receives a scholarship must go online and accept it, at which time funds will be release directly to the institution for use in the comin semester.

Tipton County Foundation scholarships are applicable to tuition, room and board, or any other qualified “cost of attendance” expenses. Some renewable scholarships do exists, and each recipient is informed of any continued requirements when the scholarship is awarded.

Remember that scholarships have no “cash value” and are always paid directly to the accredited institution.

The Foundation’s promotion of higher education is funded in part by the Independent Colleges of Indiana. We would like to thank ICI and the Endowment along with our other donors, volunteers, and the local high school Guidance Offices, who all provide opportunities for Tipton County students to continue their education.

TCF is committed to helping more students graduate from college with less debt. Rising costs are closing doors to higher education for many individuals in our community. Through the Tipton County Foundation, local school officials and other volunteers at Tipton and Tri-Central high schools, and other organizations, we make a strong, collective statement about the importance of education beyond high school. We help provide both encouragement and financial support for local students.

The Foundation also has scholarships available for College Seniors. These applications open in September and close November 1 of the year prior to college graduation. Check out the opportunities at www.tinyurl.com/tcfseniorscholarships.
