Mary Alice Nichols Memorial Scholarship

Benefits Nursing Students For Their Final Semester

The Nichols Scholarship was established by her husband Philip V. Nichols to assist Tipton and Tri-Central alumni  with completing their initial Nursing education. Applicants must be enrolled for their final semester(s) before certification. Applications are due by November 1 of the year preceding graduation, regardless of what month the student will graduate. (December grads must have applied 13 months before graduation.)

This scholarship will be applied toward the balance of the student's account for the last semester of  nursing education. It may only be applied to outstanding tuition or required fees.

There is no application "form" for the Nichols Scholarship. Please provide the following information in your own word processed document.

Return your printed document to the Tipton County Foundation, PO Box 412, 1020 W. Jefferson St., Tipton, IN 46072 by the deadline, November 1 of the calendar year before the year you will graduate.

Faxed or Emailed applications will not be accepted.

  1. Applicant Name.
  2. Address.
  3. Permanent address.
  4. Email address.
  5. Phone number.
  6. Year of graduation from Tipton or Tri-Central High School.
  7. Parent/Guardian Name and address.
  8. Name of nursing school, college, or university.
  9. Degree or Nursing Certification to be earned. Any Specialization.
  10. Semesters Completed.
  11. Confirmed Graduation Date.
  12. Grade Point Average. Please attach the most recent transcript available.
  13. A brief description (not merely a list) of your activities during your college career. Please include campus organizations or clubs to which you belong, honors or awards you have received, work or volunteer experiences you have had, and any other information you feel should be included to accurately portray your college experience as a whole.
  14. A brief description of your future plans (career choice, further education, etc.).
