This fun event for the whole family will be conducted for the eighth time on Sunday, August 29, 2010, a week before Labor Day weekend, beginning at 1:30 pm.

Each child will get a wristband for $3, entitling her or him to enjoy all the games, “rides,” crafts, and other fun organized by the Boys & Girls Club of Tipton County for the afternoon. They will also receive a coupon toward the cost of food and beverages provided by the Lions Club of Tipton, or ice cream from the Mustard Seed. Free to everyone of any age is the entertainment by Tipton County singers and dancers all afternoon at the Gazebo.

Each wristband is numbered, matching a duck in the Duck Derby at 4 pm, where lucky ducks will be drawn from the pond and prizes will be awarded to youngsters with the matching duck numbers.

Families may wish to bring lawn chairs or blankets for relaxation during the afternoon. * Families will want to purchase their wristbands before 3:15 pm, in order to be able to enjoy all the fun. At 3:45 pm, activities will begin to shut down in the main part of the Park, and everyone will be urged to move to the north entrance where the Duck Pond will be located. Thank YOU! for Bringing Your Family to Ducky Day!

In particular, thank you to the young entertainers, and the student athletes, student councils, and club members from the two high schools and middle schools who help run so many of the activities.

This summer-ending celebration for youngsters at family-friendly prices is always well-attended and well-supported by volunteer efforts. Thank you to all of them!
